Toy drive for these village creches:

Recently we visited some village creches (nursery schools) set up by the government for children aged about 3-5. Here's what we found:

  • Moldy classrooms that looked like a dungeon.
  • No electricity.
  • Very little light coming through the concrete windows.
  • No toys or supplies.
  • No toilet facilities.
  • No mats; children nap on bare concrete floors, even during the cool monsoon season.

We are starting a project to take over, renovate and manage these creches, one by one as sponsors are found. Meanwhile, we are conducting a toy drive to collect durable, educational toys for them; items such as wooden puzzles, cardboard books, flash cards, any wooden toys that can survive in a group, montessori-type stuff, musical toys etc. etc. And we are traveling to England with two empty suitcases which we hope to fill up!
The creche below was better than most as it had 3 toys to share between 27 children.

Hi, Thanks for the great work. I just wanted to know if you are working with Being Human - Salman Khan Foundation or working independantly. I have been his biggest fan and love him till death. He is an inspiration.

Thanks for your encouragment. At present, we are not working with 'Being Human' but know of the great work they do--mostly operations and medical treatment for poor children I think. You are right, Salman is an inspiration.

Thank You for your reply. I would love to know where i can get the being human t's and watches in London. I am from London and would love to buy them to contribute. If you can please guide me with best. I would realy appreciate that. Also if there are any plans of working with Being Human? thank you. Take Care.

I have asked and it seems Being Human products are not available in the UK.

Thanks for your information. please keep posting. thanks.
